In the fourth quarter of 2022, the performance of the top five social networking apps in Hungary exhibited diverse trends across weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides a comprehensive look into these metrics.

BeReal: Photos & Friends Daily experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting at around 21.7K in late September and dropping to about 8.9K by the end of December. Despite this, its weekly active users increased from approximately 119.3K to 152K over the same period.

Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. showed a gradual increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $195 in late November. Weekly downloads saw a notable spike in mid-December, reaching approximately 29.6K. Active users exhibited a steady rise, culminating at around 3.05M by the end of the quarter.

Facebook, also from Meta Platforms, Inc., displayed a decreasing trend in weekly revenue, falling from about $3.4K at the start of the quarter to around $2.7K by the end. Downloads showed a significant uptick towards the end of December, peaking at roughly 21.6K. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight increase to approximately 6.53M.

Rakuten Viber Messenger saw its weekly revenue fluctuate, peaking at about $956 in early December. Downloads increased towards the end of the quarter, reaching around 11.8K in the last week of December. Active users showed some variation but ended the quarter at approximately 2.61M.

WhatsApp Messenger had a consistent download trend, with a slight increase towards the end of December, peaking at roughly 10.3K. Active users showed a notable increase, rising from about 1.63M at the start of the quarter to approximately 1.73M by the end.
